The operating hours for the registration system are 777 (seven days a week, from 7:00 A.M. to 7:00 P.M.) except on regularly scheduled priority registration appointment dates where the system opens at 8:00 A.M.. See the Spring 2008 Registration Calendar for a display of all operating hours each day.

There are 5 registration priority appointment dates (priority appointments are set based on student classification):

  1. September 29, 2007 (8:00 A.M. to 7:00 P.M.) - Graduate and Professional Students

  2. October 6, 2007 (8:00 A.M. to 7:00 P.M.) - Seniors and Continuing Studies Seniors

  3. October 13, 2007 (8:00 A.M. to 7:00 P.M.) - Juniors and Continuing Studies Juniors

  4. October 27, 2007 (8:00 A.M. to 7:00 P.M.) - Sophomores and Continuing Studies Sophomores

  5. November 3, 2007 (8:00 A.M. to 7:00 P.M.) - Continuing Freshmen, Continuing Studies Freshmen, and Continuing Studies Non-Degree Seeking Students.

Continuing Studies special degree seeking students (SDS) register according to the schedule listed in the Continuing Studies Student Handbook.

Note: The initial registration for DDS, JD, MD, first year MBA and PharmD students will be handled by their school registrars. Students should consult with their school registrars for schedule revision procedures.

Beginning with Spring 2007, students were divided into smaller groups before they were assigned a registration time. Within their classisfication, students were divided into alpha sets and then into random groups within each set.

See the Table of Registration Assignment Times to view the sortings for the current term as well as future terms.

NOTE: Students who are admitted after the initial activate date of September 22, 2007 will receive an appointment time of 12:00 P.M. on their designated date for their classification.

Once the first registration window opens according to your priority registration appointment date (based on classification), you can continue to access the system and drop/add whenever the system is in operation. You cannot add courses after the Last Day to Register or Add Classes for the Spring Semester (Tuesday, January 15, 2008) School Deans will only approve registration after the last day to register for truly exceptional circumstances.)

Additionally, you cannot drop a course after the Last Day to Drop a Course for Financial Credit (Wednesday, January 23, 2008). After these dates, you must receive approval in order to process drop/add transactions. These transactions must be submitted on a Registration/Drop/Add Form received from an academic department or School Dean's Office.

Waitlisting is an option, if made available by the department prior to the tuition due date each semester. Waitlists are maintained in the order that you make your request. If you choose to place yourself on a waitlist you are automatically moved up the waitlist and added to the course when a seat becomes available. You can access the system to check on your waitlist status or drop yourself from the waitlist. Waitlists are purged the day after tuition is due for the semester.

You can confirm your status at any time by viewing your schedule on Student Central. When you move into a course from the waitlist, the course will show in your schedule as enrolled. If a waitlisted course is showing on your schedule, you are now enrolled in that course. If a waitlisted course is not showing on your schedule, you have been dropped from that waitlist and you are not enrolled in the course. The waitlist option is no longer available after canellations have occurred for the term.

The Cashier calculates tuition and fees based on the established billing dates and mails you a bill. These bills instruct you to pay or defer the full amount of your tuition and fees by the payment deadline or your registration will be canceled. See the University Registrar's Calendar for specific dates.

If you receive financial aid or have other outside sources of funding (e.g. teaching assistantships, research assistantships) which are responsible for your tuition, you may complete the Tuition and Fees deferment form on the back of the top portion of the bill. Tuition and Fees Deferment Forms are provided with the bill if you register during the established billing dates.

If you: 1) are not registered for any courses; 2) are registered for courses, but are not cleared financially; or 3) are not academically eligible to continue in school, you will be canceled and will receive notice of a registration cancellation for the pertinent reason. Cancellation notices are sent approximately 3 business days after the tuition due date.

After the tuition due date, you must pay estimated tuition and fees to the University Cashier's Office, Suite 2215, SASB North (or financial aid recipients must provide the University Cashier with documented eligibility of financial aid plus payment for any previous charges or unfunded tuition and fees) in order to register for the semester.

You will be charged a $20.00 late registration fee if you register on or after the first day of classes.

If registering for the first time, you can obtain a copy of your schedule through Student Central as well as update your address.

When you add or drop courses, you can obtain an updated schedule through the web at Student Central. Building and room information are shown on your schedule.
