Length of Office Service Award

The purpose of this award is to recognize and provide monetary awards to permanent EPA and SPA staff members within the Office of the University Registrar who have attained length of service benchmarks within the Office of the University Registrar.
Permanent employees who have held the following number of consecutive years of permanent service within the Office of the University Registrar will be recognized and rewarded for their length of service commitment to the department.
Qualifying recipients will receive a cash award based on the following number of years of permanent service within the Office of the University Registrar:

Note: The years of service in the Office of the University Registrar may not be the same as an employee's years of total state service. For example, an employee who has worked for another University department for 10 years but has attained only 4 years of service within the Office of the University Registrar would not be eligible for this length of service recognition award until their fifth year with OUR.
OTHER RULES
The employee may receive only 1 length of office service award during any five-year period.
The employee must be employed in the Office of the University Registrar on the service award date in order to qualify for the award.
The award will be based on the anniversary date of when the employee began permanent employment within the Office of the University Registrar.
The Length of Office Service Award program will be effective beginning in the 2002 calendar year.
PRESENTATION OF THE AWARD
Beginning in January 2003, Length of Office Service Awards will be presented to office employees attaining their benchmark year of departmental service by the University Registrar during the Monday morning "Blast-Off" gathering immediately following the employee's OUR benchmark anniversary date.
To launch the program, awards will be given in December 2002 to recognize any Office employees who attained any of the following years of benchmark service (5,10,15,20,25,30 years) within the Office of the University Registrar at any time during the 2002 calendar year.
TAX CONSIDERATIONS
All cash awards are considered taxable income and will be reported to Payroll Services and be included on the Employee's W-2 form. The full amount of the award is subject to taxes, thus the actual award amount will be less than the dollar amount noted above.
