Workplace Harassment

OUR POLICY MEMO NO. 17

The Office of the University Registrar fully supports the University policies regarding workplace harassment and discrimination. The Office of the University Registrar will strive to be an office that promotes excellent working conditions free from harassment.

It is the responsibility of each person in the department to be aware of how their conduct and behavior may be perceived by others. It is the particular responsibility of the office supervisors to be aware and respond to situations of harassment.

The first step in resolving a situation is to try to resolve it between the immediate people involved. The campus policies and procedures cover the specific steps that should be taken. The locations of those policies are indicated below.

POLICY STATEMENTS

The University publishes campus policy and grievance procedures in a number of web sites.

GRIEVANCE PROCEDURES

The Office of Human Resources administers the procedures for resolving complaints of harassment.

These procedures can be found on the Human Resources web site.
