Parking Allocation

OUR POLICY MEMO NO. 11

PARKING ALLOCATION

All interested employees are encouraged to register for a parking permit during the open registration period. All permits are assigned by seniority according to total state service date.

NEW EMPLOYEES

If permits are already assigned and none are available, a new employee must wait until the opening of the next assignment period to obtain a parking permit. The new employee can apply to the Transportation Office for a permit or be placed on a waitlist.

If a new employee is transferred or hired into the department during the permit assignment period (approximately May to June) before the parking request is signed and submitted by the University Registrar, permit priority will be changed to accommodate the new employee if he/she has seniority over any current employee's status.

TERMINATION

If an employee who has a permit terminates, transfers, or retires from the Office of the University Registrar with the intent to continue to work on campus, the employee may retain the permit until the expiration of the permit. Employees who are not returning to work on campus, must turn in their parking permit immediately.

If a permit becomes available before the start of the assignment period, the parking coordinator will send an email to the office announcing the availability of the permit and requesting interested parties to respond. The permit will be assigned based on the highest seniority of those who respond.
