Ad-Hoc Room Reservations

SUBJECT: Ad-Hoc Classroom Reservation Policy

This policy details the process for reserving instructional spaces currently termed "ad-hoc classrooms". These rooms have a facilities RUC code of 110 (classroom usage) but are generally NOT used on a recurring basis by any course section.

Ad-hoc classrooms may be scheduled for ad-hoc events by calling ATN's Classroom Hotline at 962-6702 and will be assigned on a first-come, first-served basis.

Requests to use ad-hoc classrooms for regularly scheduled classes will be forwarded to the University Scheduling Office. The University Scheduling Office will determine if other suitable classroom space exists to meet the particularly requested need and will assign classroom space appropriately. The Registrar MAY schedule regularly scheduled classes in ad-hoc classrooms as need demands.

Addition/deletion of rooms to the "ad-hoc" classroom pool may be requested by the Registrar as need demands, and the Registrar's requests are subject to review by the Provost's Classroom Design and Advisory Committee.

The following ad-hoc classrooms are currently available for scheduling on an "ad-hoc" basis:

• Hanes 02 Computer Classroom (scheduled by ATN Classroom Hotline)
• Dey Hall 303 (scheduled by Romance Languages)
• Phillips 328 (scheduled by ATN Classroom Hotline)
• Gardner 08 (scheduled by ATN Classroom Hotline)

Ad-hoc rooms have the same audio/visual equipment as Multimedia Level Two Classrooms, but are scheduled for one-time events. These rooms may be scheduled by calling the Classroom Hotline. Please see: http://hotline.unc.edu or call 962-6702.
